AD50 Design Award
Architectural Digest
2017

Commissioned by Architectural Digest for their annual list honoring the most influential designers in India, this monolithic object is carefully shaped from reclaimed mahogany, salvaged from demolished buildings in Mumbai. Inspired by the simple geometry of Platonic solids, the award is formed by faceting a cylinder along the edges of the perfectly inscribed but rotated squares at either end. The density of the material provides a generous heft to the object, strongly presencing itself whether on a table, shelf or held in one’s hand.
